World Autism Day
02 April 2025
The "World Autism Awareness Day" program hosted by Krishna's Child Guidance Centre was
a deeply fulfilling and interactive session with parents of children with Autism,
offering space to address their concerns with empathy and clarity. The discussion
centered around key themes including the concept of neurodivergence, the societal stigma
often faced, and the vital role of self-help groups. Parenting children with challenges
is a minute-by-minute journey that calls for unwavering support, and personally, I had long
awaited the opportunity to bring together motivated parents under one roof to encourage
the formation of self-help groups—powerful bridges of peer-led support that help families
persevere. What began with hesitant participation soon blossomed into a dynamic exchange
of questions and ideas, affirming the impact and relevance of the session on this important
day of Autism Spectrum Disorder awareness.A meaningful World Autism
Day session that united parents in open dialogue and peer-led support for neurodivergent
children.
